Joining the Section
Membership is open to the following:- solicitors who are members of the Law Society;
- solicitors who are admitted to practice in Scotland or Northern Ireland;
- associate members of the Law Society (who are thus eligible for associate membership of the Competition Section);
- registered foreign lawyers;
- overseas lawyers from other European countries entitled to practise in the UK; and
- individuals not falling into any of the above categories who have an interest in the work and objectives of the Section, including (without limitation) barristers, economists, government officials and students
- free evening meetings practically every month in the UK and Brussels addressed by leading practioners and officials [where possible, available as Webcasts to those not able to attend in person];
- a substantial discount to attend the flagship Annual Conference, a key event in the competition law calendar providing the chance to learn about new developments first hand from the people who are making policy at the agencies and working on the leading cases;
- a substantial discount to attend the formal Annual Dinner at The Inner Temple Hall; and
- other opportunites to engage with members and officials of the UK and EU competition authorities.
The individual membership fee will decrease the more members a firm has.
