Joining the Section

Membership is open to the following:

• solicitors who are members of the Law Society,
• solicitors who are admitted to practice in Scotland or Northern Ireland,
• overseas lawyers from other European countries entitled to practise in the UK, and
• associate members of the Law Society (who are thus eligible for associate membership of the Competition Section),

in each case subject to acceptance of the appropriate application and payment of the applicable subscription fee.

The benefits of membership of the Competition Section include:

• free evening meetings practically every month in the UK and Brussels and £100.00 discount at the flagship annual conference, which provide the chance to learn about new developments first hand from the people who are making policy at the agencies and working on theleading cases, including senior agency officials, barristers, economists and other leading practitioners;
• substantial discount at the annual dinner where members will hear distinguished speakers from government and the authorities;
• an informative journal, “Lawyers’ Europe”;
• opportunites to engage with other members and officials of the UK and EU competition authorities.

The membership fee will decrease the more members a firm has.
